Clarissa Aljentera is an antiracist educator, facilitator, lay minister, writer and bridge builder. She is actively working to create spaces that center the experiences of people of the global majority. As someone invested in restorative justice practices, Clarissa works from the lens of restorative justice in many facets of her life and work.
She has facilitated retreat experiences from the antiracist and racial justice lens in Catholic settings. Clarissa has taught a graduate level summer course on Anti-racist ministry in a Catholic context for the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. She has guest lectured on antiracism and ministry at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.
Before she began her career in ministry, she worked as a newspaper journalist for 10 years covering crime, sports and education. Clarissa had a passion for sports journalism as a young writer and began her career there. She is a performing artist, accomplished writer and has consulted internationally around social media and ministry. Clarissa has published two books, “The Parish Guide to Social Media” and “Wonderfully Made”. She lives in Chicago, Illinois with her husband and son.
